16 June 2009 The exhibition Recessionism in Slovenia 2009, second quarter, closed yesterday evening. Recessionism is inspired by the current economic recession and is optimistically opening up space to something new. As a part of the concept, Futura PR also donated funds of their sold artworks to The Bank of Slovenia.
The closing event was attended by guests and all artists who joined recessionism: Zora Stančič, Michael Benson, Vuk Ćosić, Bojan Gorišek, Futura PR, Matevž Medja, Silvester Plotajs Sicoe, Matej Andraž Vogrinčič and EnKnapGroup.
Futura PR is initiator of the recessionism and also a collective corporate artist. As part of the recessionism concept they donated funds from the sales of their artworks to The Bank of Slovenia. »Funds in total amount of EUR 300 are donated to The Bank of Slovenia as a sign of support to their activities for sustainable economic progress. The funds will be donated in three monthly instalments,« said Matjaž Klipšteter, director of Futura PR.
The highlight of the evening was concert of a recognized piano player Bojan Gorišek, who performed 4'33'' by John Cage. In this song, the artist does not produce any sounds; the song consists merely of the sounds from the audience.
